Proactiv Review

Proactiv Acne solution is one of the best selling acne treatments in America, it has been sold by Guthy-Renker since 1994 to reported 10million customers. Developed by two dermatologists Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields and as many other acne treatments it is based around Benzoyl Peroxide as it’s bacterialcide but it is found in lower amounts than many of it’s competitors.

Proactiv is different than many other acne creams and washes in that it treats the whole area of skin rather than the just the area of the outbreak. Being targeted at mild to moderate acne sufferers.

It is based o a three stage system which you apply every morning and every evening before going to bed. The three stages of application are:

Renewing cleanser
Used to deep cleanse the affected area of skin.

Revitalizing toner
Used to tone the cleansed skin. If going outside after application you need to apply sunscreen.

Repairing lotion
Helps repair the damage done to the skin by acne. It can take a long time for the damaged skin to improve the scarring left by acne.

One of the main ingredients found in proactiv is Benzoyl Peroxide and is said to cause bleaching on coloured fabrics clothes, bedding etc.. that it comes into contact with. Also if you are going out side or on a sunbed then you need to use a sunscreen.
